A Red Carpet Affair

The staff at The Summit Church scraped up all the creativity and muscles we could and tried to show our volunteers how much they mean to us (and the church as a whole)!
The culmination was Monday night's V.I.P. or Volunteer Appreciation Night or something-or-other. I never really found out the official name for the event.

Kristi and I were the official t-shirt committee. We worked long and hard (with the help of our own volunteers - who happen to be on staff) to get the shirts sorted and folded and displayed and given away!

The highlight of the night (oh, wait, the whole night was a highlight, really) was the red carpet and the paparazzi as the volunteers entered the building! I love that several people put on their sunglasses and hammed it up for the several photographers that were calling for them!

Chris and Michelle (in the background) were stopping people along the way to ask who they were wearing and other kinds of red carpet questions.
I would like to have posted one of my favorite shots of the night but I don't have it: Posey (above) had his shades on and his hand in front of his face to block the shot just like out of the tabloids! Even funnier if you know Posey.
