Last night our friend Marcy came to town. We had a delicious dinner at the Douglas' followed by side-splitting teacher stories. Hannah and Leslie told some of their favorite stories from the past several years of teaching including some from our friend Heather (whom we miss dearly but is soon to return).My favorite is from Hannah's class this year:
C came into class one day and said with his precious high-pitched voice, "Uh, Ms. Irvin, uh, my dementor is coming to pick me up after school."
Those of you Harry Potter fanatics are already rolling on the floor and have probably wet your pants. Now, this one had to be explained to me. So I'll explain it to those of you who might not be laughing right now. C's mentor was coming to pick him up that day but since they were reading Harry Potter 3: The Prisoner of Azkaban, starring the Dementors, in class the sweet little buddy got his words mixed up. We're pretty sure C's mentor is not sucking the happiness out of his life. :)
You just have to hear Hannah do the voice - it's amazing!
Marcy, we are so glad you are visiting with us this weekend!!!!! We miss you!
