"stupid flowers"

In high school I called these "stupid flowers" because they would always bloom during that random January or February warm-front that came through. Then they would die with the cold weather.
I saw these "stupid flowers" the other night and thought, "yep, it was warm today but right now I wish I had my gloves... stupid flowers."
I think I want to rename them "hopeful flowers" though. They just get a little confused*. They like the warm weather (just like I do) and they can't help but bloom. Then the cold weather comes and kills their hope... and them. Tear.

"Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life."
Proverbs 13:12

*No, flowers don't have feelings. It's just easier to write that way.
