Dive, Dine, Watch

I got to watch 2 of my high school girls dive in the state competition. They did great! The best part was watching them (and the other divers) nearly hitting their heads on the board while doing one of their fancy twisty-twirly inward tuck somersault backward dives - and NOT hitting their heads. Their parents, an older sister (and former student), and some other divers were all there cheering them on.
Then we went to dinner. This was no ordinary dinner. When we arrived at The Loop there were already several divers there. By the time we sat down to eat (not a long time) there were 2 sets of 5 or so put-together tables of various divers and divers' family members and fans. I wish I had a picture of this: one of the long tables was parallel to the wall... the other was diagonal. It was so awkward!
After the yummy meal my two high schoolers, and former student and I went to the movies. There were only 6 other people in the theater. I thought movie theaters were supposed to be packed on Friday nights. Oh well. We had a good time!
